what we do

Tasilu links families with tutors, refugees with locals, and communities with student populations. We act as a platform through which those who need help, and those who need a way to help, connect.

Our system is easy, and straightforward: 

As a family: First, you make a profile, detailing your wants and needs, as well as your availability and location. This information is processed by our algorithm and read by staff, and you are then matched with a number of tutors who meet your needs. You read their bios, and get a feel for who they are. If you find someone you think you might like, simply click 'Contact me' and we send you to a pre-filled form. Add your notes, click send, and make an appointment to meet with your tutor in the comfort of your home. 

As a tutor: First, fill in our tutor application, and submit a resume and cover letter. You'll complete a background check and may be contacted by staff for more information. If everything is in order, you'll be given the go-ahead to create your profile, complete with availability and bio. With your profile live, families who think you're a good match can contact you, and it's up to you both to find a time to meet that works. What days and how many hours you volunteer are totally up to you, and we at Tasilu are here to support you.
